I have been a counselor in Central Oklahoma since 1994. I am licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Psychologist (and Health Service Provider). I have significant experience with individual, couples, family and group therapy. I love to work with children, adolescents, adults and senior adults. With 24 years of experience I am currently in private practice in Norman, Oklahoma working with a wide vaireity of clients.  I am primarily a cognitive behavioral therapist. My goal is to effectively address life's challenges through a focus on current thinking (cognitions), behavior and communication styles. I offer highly personalized services by integrating complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a tailored approach to every client and each issue. Using compassion and understanding, we work collaboratively to build on strengths and attain personal growth.

I earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma and completed the extra courses to become a certified secondary teacher before entering the University of Central Oklahoma and attaining my M.A. in Psychology. My Master's research was on social interactions and the way that we assess the amount of give and take in relationships. After graduating from UCO, I worked as a Bereavement Coordinator for a local hospice and served most of south central Oklahoma. I then took a job working as a Psychological Technician at Joseph Harp Correctional Center, where I became the Assistant Director of the program after two years. I spent a great deal of time doing individual and group therapy as well as developing programming and dealing with administrative work. From there, I became the Executive Director of Parent Promise in Oklahoma City (Previously known as Exchange Club Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse inc.). Under my leadership, the Exchange Club Center incorporated the statewide Prevent Child Abuse Oklahoma component. I returned to the University of Oklahoma to complete my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. My doctoral research looked at the impact of mentoring relationships for doctoral students. I completed my predoctoral internship through the Oklahoma Health Consortium and worked at the O.U. Counseling Services, Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Center at Southwest Medical Center and Cleveland County Child Guidance in Moore, OK. After completing my Ph.D. I worked at the O.U. Counseling Services for an additional two years before transitioning to private practice in 2009. As of 2010 I started working full time.
